Dark Circles

Dark circles can appear for many reasons, and can affect anyone regardless of age or gender. Often for affected people, this condition is hereditary and people with a darker complexion find it can be more pronounced. Additionally, our skin can become thin and lose volume as we age, resulting in dark patches being revealed as the blood vessels under the skin become more visible.

Too much sun exposure can sometimes affect the skin’s pigmentation too, as can tiredness and fatigue. Lack of sleep causes the skin under the eyes to become pale, leaving the blood vessels and dark tissue vulnerable to exposure. Puffiness around the eyes, known as eye bags, frequently goes hand in hand with this condition. People who suffer with dark circles under the eyes will often complain that they feel as though they look older than they are, due to the enhanced darkness making them appear tired and feel the need to seek advice for a suitable treatment, as they can be hard to get rid of.
